Your own private vacation home awaits you.  Eagle River is home to Great Sand Bay Estate, a spacious log, 2-story vacation home overlooking the Great Sand Bay of Lake Superior; a home surrounded by Lake Superior's finest sand dunes. 

View Lake Superior sunsets through the A-frame glass front or during your evening stroll along the beach. 

The home, a North Woods setting with 13 private forested acres and 100' from Lake Superior, has two bedrooms including a King, bunk twin set & 2 queen-size beds.  The house is also fully furnished including a 2-way grand fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV, locally made log furniture and complete laundry facilities. 

Great Sand Bay Estate, a non-smoking facility, is open three seasons; early summer, summer and fall.

From the sports enthusiast to the peaceful vacationer, Great Sand Bay Estate has something to offer everyone.  Escape and enjoy the North Woods rich in tradition.

Please note - Great Sand Bay Estate is located within a private residential community.  This rental unit is not compatible with large groups.  Families or one-three couple groups are acceptable.  Thank you for your sensitivity.

ATV's (All Terrain Vehicle/4-wheeler) are not allowed.

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS

Summer hosts a great many attractions in the area such as stream fishing (trout, Northern Pike and salmon), golf, hiking and biking.  Enjoy the choice white sand beach, rock hounding, copper mines, specialty shops (Copper Harbor & Eagle Harbor).

Michigan Technological University, with its arts, theatre and hockey, is located in Houghton. 

Take a side trip to Isle Royal National Park.

Isle Royal National Park and Ojibwa Casino are nice day-trips.

Keweenaw Lodge Golf Course - 15 minutes - 9-hole golf course in a Northwoods setting.  Enjoy dining in the rustic Lodge.

Isle Royale National Park - Copper Harbor - 20 minutes - Commuting ship whisks you from modern activities of Copper Harbor to experiencing the natural side of Michigan with wolves, moose, hiking and various splendors of the wild North Woods.

Michigan Technological University - Houghton - 35 minutes - Arts, theater, hockey and many other college town attractions.  Shop, catch a movie, down hill ski or snowboard.

Delaware Copper Mine - Delaware - 10 minutes - Ghost town Delaware takes you back in time to the Keweenaw 'copper mining' days offering a mine tour, museum, archeological remains and gift shop.

Eagle Harbor Lighthouse - Eagle Harbor - 5 minutes - One of several scenic Lake Superior shoreline lighthouses open for touring. 

Calumet Theatre - Calumet - 15 minutes - Experience the Fine Arts of theatre, music, opera, and dance at this historic opera house built during the booming copper years of the Upper Peninsula.
